Master Gardeners of St. Clair County Spring Symposium

We are so very excited about “From the Ground Up”. The theme this year is design and fill.

Kelly Orzel, is a fresh, young, enthusiastic, organic vegetable gardener. Her book “The Backyard Gardener” (which will be sold at the symposium) is packed with useful valuable information. She will talk about good organic gardening practices. Just a wealth of information!

Jonathan Wright is one accomplished horticulturist. His bio is incredible. He will speak on lesser known, often forgotten plants that do well in our zone 5 gardens, concentrating on perennials, woody’s, herbs, and even throwing in some vegetables.

Daniel Hinkley, another unbelievable horticulturist, plant explorer, and fellow gardener, etc.  will speak to us on design;  remembering movement, fragrance and texture, the forgotten elements of a good design. He will show us through example in “The Making of Windcliff”.

We are so very excited about this line up!

As you know we strive to bring you only the best, relevant, talented speakers.

We also pride ourselves in creating a day out, before the season officially begins to get you excited about your own garden and its 2020 potential.

The doors will open at 7:30, so you will have the first opportunity to shop in our Gardener’s Marketplace.  This year we have invited many, many new vendors and they will be in the gym. The doors to the Marketplace will open to the public at 9:00, when we start our first lecture.  We will also keep the marketplace open just to you until 4:30.

We have also moved the date to April 4, 2020. Many snowbirds have expressed an interest in coming, so we have obliged.

We certainly hope we have your attention. Please don’t hesitate to buy your ticket, this venue is smaller and we cannot overbook.
